Just had a round in SWAT4, picked a random server (ELITE) and fragged away. Lots of clanners in, with lots of strangers aswell. The game environment is amazingly warm and great. Its actually fun to play. The best part in SWAT4 is that people play in a team, if they want to score high. Loners either leech other people, and use them as decoys, bait, or just score at the bottom of the list. Not to mention the good attitude at the end of the game, with at least a half of the players saying "GG" or some witty remark.

played it briefly - didn't warm to the grey maze like corridors
although leaning is something that I miss not being able to do in BF2 and other games

I think people in bf2 are the most anti-social out of every game I have played, although in fear everyone says gg at the end of a round and it gets quite annoying tbh.

depends on your taste i thought it was. could be some retardness like having to wait for a round to finnish 9can take long time) people who go afk and you can't kikc with out admin (you can in expansion) its pretty good. has soem flaws like many games but its a laugh and probally on budget now too

Its pretty good. Youll get annoyed by the 30 minute deployment intervals (you dont respawn 15 seconds later, but theres a respawn event every 30 seconds), but its a matter of adjustment.

Weapons are mostly extremely accurate, but rapidly go to hell after first shot, with very heavy recoil and large grouping, which makes weapon use an artform (Ive written 2 very long weapon guides and ballistics tests for my clan, peopel have written very long map guides) and even though the game is in CQC/CQB environment only, with mostly tight close action, it still has a lot more depth than BF2 has.

Weapons are really cool and you actually feel and hear how powerful they are. Even the silenced ones feel like rail cannons in terms of BF2.

Player base is so so. You might want to stick to an adminned server, and if you do, its mad tight.

[TGC]Gez (legendary modder of SWAT4 community LOL), hs released an admin mod, which solves every little server management problem SWAT4 had. Like autokick for idle players, TK limiter (you get forced to used less lethal weapons), VIP gets changed I think, if hes idle. And a first person spectate mode, which was only available when you were waiting for respawning.

Its a great game, worth playing, but extremely different from BF2. Also, with no anti cheat support you might run into an occasional hacker, but in adminned server, those get banned quickly. It should be a bargain deal now.

SubZero, that long wait was because the respawning was disabled. There arent many servers with that setting.

And Heatseeker, how can you get annoyed by the good spirit in a server?!

Its just that they say it genericaly, however the round went so its predictable, there may as well be a bot saying it.

most gaming community's will be polite an good mannered, experienced that from playing HL/MoHaa/UT but it seems like everything went out the window when BF2 came along

Co-ops are where the real teamwork is at in SWAT4, played about 200 hours with the original and expansion split 50:50 well worth how ever much the gold version is.

I haven't played it in a little while might have to start playing barricaded or rapid deployment again.

EDIT: I agree the community is completely different in BF2. One of the major problems with the communities in BF2 is the poor positioning of the chat box, half of the typing gets whisked away by Q spotting.

I just figured something out, their is no human enemy's in mp so u just playing with ur teamates against ai's, so their is not to much comotion.

No.......... that is only in Co-ops, everything else is Players vs Players.

It'd be nice if you could type anything at the end of the round! One of the only games I know that cuts communication off there and then. But communicating is one of BF2's weak points, as typing anything will fly off the screen too fast for anyone to read, and rarely do people use VoIP, and I can't even hear them when they do..

Its the same with the ghost recon community. We all tend to get on really well, if your playing a team v team match against another clan you dont get any of the "OMFG youz is a n00bz" style stuff we have a right laugh. Sometimes it takes nearly an hour to get a game going because we are too busy chatting away in the box and forget about the game!
