Certainly I've punished when someone blatantly kills me...but mostly I just forgive and move on.

I believe that's going to change. I am punished EVERY SINGLE TIME for inadvertant TK's.

You all know the story - someone drives their FAV into your tank, blows up, and punishes you. They run into your grenade. They're next to one of your mines when an enemy vehicle drives over it. Blah Blah Blah.

I have NEVER intentionally killed someone and most of the time my TK's aren't from stupidity...though occasionally I'll shoot first and ask questions later. (These I can understand getting punished on occasionally.)

But I've had it with being punished for 'game-isms' that list me as the culprit just because the truck I'm in blows up and kills someone next to me.

So I'm contemplating Punishing by default, since that seems to be the standard I'm experiencing in the game these days.

Anyone else noticing a definite lack of forgiveness lately?

Lately? Um, no how about since release? The whole punishment TK system is garbage. Why include that in a gme that is supposed to be played for fun, punishment? Stupidity...

What do you loose by beeing tolerant..?
Will punishing make you feel better somehow..?
Will it stop TK's from happening..?

Perhaps you should play on FF-off servers...

I dont know why people make such a fuss over punish/forgive. You get -4 for the teamkill and - whatever from team damage beforehand. There is NO difference between the two. I punish every teamkill no matter what because it makes no difference and I think its funny when people start freaking out because of punishes. Im still surprised that only a few people know the difference by now...

If there is one thing that this game has actually taught me, its that people are complete assholes.

You, my friend, are a complete *******. Yes, it makes no difference, BUT the server tracks the teamkill. Say on Insomnia, if you are punished three times, you are kicked for the round. So your little punish contributes to me getting kicked....

I honestly never bothered looking at the difference. Good to know, but it begs the question: why even HAVE a "TK" punish/forgive feature? Just build in the option to kick after x amount of teamkills and forget the whole PG UP/DN thing...

When someone punishes, it is recorded by the server. If x amount of punished teamkills are recorded, then you are kicked. It DOES make a difference if you punish or not. Dont listen to this idiot....

one good thing about servers that autopunish, all the whinings disappear

and whines are definitely more annoying than punishes

as for the number of punishes on the rise? yes (more newer players)

i'd like to think the seasoned players typically don't punish.....

                    Re: Punishing by default

my reaction depends on the situation. If I'm in a fire fight, or I drive over a mine (mines hidden amongst C4 are a pain in the ***), I forgive. I do punish for intentional TK's, and for plain stupidy. If someone is nade spamming and I get hit by his nade, I'll punish. Obviously, only if I was standing still or capping an empty flag, not in the middle of a fire fight.

If I do accidently kill someone, like they drive into me or they prone infront of me while Im firing, I'll let out an abuse message and get on with it. If just one person listens to what Im saying and re-evaluates their insta-punishing habit, then it's a victory.

I did not know that punished teamkills contributed to getting kicked. I always thought there was no difference between the too at all. I will still punish for all tks though, but now I know that it will make a difference.

I would EA does something to fix the whole punish/forgive thing so that it has a better meaning to it. If they decide to do something about it, it would probably be done by nerfing grenades explosive power or by changing all automatic rifles to semi automatic. :P

I had a team mate the other day who kept trying to run me over with a jeep intentionally. After he had a few unsuccessful tries I finally decided enough was enough and shot him between the eyes. Guess what? Punished. :)
