Now that DICE canada is closed EA will reassign the former DICE staff to be janitors at EA's HQ in California. Will they succeded at mopping floors who knows?

I feel sorry for the DICE Canada developers and testers, i absolutely in no way hold them responsible, my beef is with DICE Sweden regarding the transfer of maintainence of BF2, reason( copied from a post i made eslewhere ) ->
1) The code for maintainence was transferred from sweden from the guys who actually wrote the code( and who know their own code that they wrote ), therefore the guys in Canada had to learn how the code works, who is to blame -> Sweden
2) When transfers like this go wrong it usually points to badly written/designed/modeled and documented code, who is to blame -> Sweden
3) The decision to move maintainence would have been made in DICE head office in Sweden, whos at fault -> Sweden
4) If more 1 patch is bad then Sweden should have realised that the competence transfer wasnt good or sufficient and should have pulled back one of the original programmers onto maintainence to deskcheck all modifications to ensure quility patches and ensure that interrelated code segments fixes do not affect particular use cases not related to the original bug fix, whos at fault -> Sweden

Project Wildfire produced the Nascar Truck series Mod for Papyrus's Nascar 2003. It was an awsome mod that exceeded the quality of the origional game. EA went on to bury papyrus by aquiring the ONLY Nascar lience, which put Papyrus out of business. The EA went on to aquire Project Wildfire. The first thing that happened within hours was the closure of the PW web site and then they yanked the PW Mod downloads.
EA told everyone the result would be their "own" Nascar sim that would exceed all others. Despite having the very tallented PW staff now on board, EA produced a total piece of crap Nascar game and the rest is history.
To this day the real Nascar drivers continue to use Papyrus's Nascar 2003 to practice, and the Nascar 2003 game (used) goes for $100 on ebay these days.
That should give you an idea what will happen to the BF series in the future.
Lets all remember how Electronic Arts bought out, and buried Legend of Kesmai because it was direct competition for it's other recent buyout, Ultima Online. Ultima Online was one of the earliest games that Electronic Arts has bought, and ruined as a result of mismanagement from completely moronic executives. (Patch 1.16, and the invention of Trammel, were an 'executive' attempt to lure back players from Everquest. Little did they realize, was that Ultima Online after the birth of Everquest was a 'niche' game. They essentially killed the population after they segregated it.)
They own Maxis now, and have released hundreds, if not thousands of "The Sims" expansions, with each new one containing less content than the previous one before it.
My guess is, if both Bethesda and Firaxis continue to suffer from unfortunate blowbacks (One had a fire at it's main office buildings, and one suffered from an earthquake causing major office damage), EA'll buy them out, and you'll see Civilization 30, and Morrowind 20 before 2010!
While that may seem like a good thing; it'll just turn out to be the same regurgitated crap that EA has become so famous for spewing up year after year after year.
Koei, and Square-enix have become this way as well. =/
It's only in the new developers that we will find true innovation, as they attempt to strike a claim into a now corporate run world of video games. Lets just hope that they find a good publisher, before EA buys them out.

Firaxis is still around? I haven't heard of them since Alpha Centauri.
