plz excuse me if this may be in the wrong forum but having been away from BF2 for awhile i have a new system and would like to begin playing the ol BF2 again, my question is...........

1. If all i have is BF2 vanilla (ie no special forces, booster packs, just the original BF2) what patch do i need to upgrade to to be able for online play?

2. or can i simply install the latest patch? (or are they specifically for spec forces and booster packs?)

thx in advance for any help and hope to see some of ya back in the ol battlefield soon!
