Im trying to tell you EA has a long VERY long history of having the worst support in the industry for any of their games. The best games ? hardly unless you equate "best" to unfished then Id agree

You start out as a private then when you rank up you get a points bug that promptly crash's your computer. When you reboot your 2142 has reverted to 1942 however and everyone has sherman tanks for arms so then you have to wait for 4 to 285 patches to be produced to fix this problem. The estimated time it will take is tilll about the year 2142 (making this one of the most future forward games ever produced and awarding it the tittle of modren day combat shooter) but anyway back to the subject at hand, so your arms are back to normal finally so now your good to go....

for about 15 minutes untill you notice that everyone else is using nuclear armorments that you don't seem to have, silly billy you forgot to get the expansion about 135 odd years ago DUH.

So now you need to go to ebay and bid on one. done? ok good job you got it for about 2000 dollars that was some good biding so now your ready to play and get your first rank right ? NO! you need to patch the expansion that is going to take you about hrmmm 22 years but hey that second rank is really shiney.

theres lots of EA haters out there. and i just want to state im not one. i hate how theyve tkaen their sweet *** time with 1.4, and then they delayed it again! but EA makes all the best games. maybe its because they own the liscence to everything pretty much, and have bought out their competition, but all the same, EA makes the best games out there. this is off topic totally. i jsut wanted to say it anyway

The only really difference it means is that your BF2 nick is safe in BF2142 and that BF2 players will have a little icon over their head that points them out as BF2 players.

For those of you that didn't know

As we promised in our last newsletter, DICE is pleased to announce the details surrounding the Veterans Program — our way to reward loyal Battlefield 2 players who are planning to play Battlefield 2142.

Players who have logged time with BF2 will be able to log onto the Battlefield website and reserve their Battlefield 2 name for Battlefield 2142 before lamers can squat on it.

Veterans status will also provide players with several other items including the following:

* An exclusive war dance animation that you can use in-game to taunt/pwn other players
* An in-game notification icon that lets other players know that you had a tour of duty in Battlefield 2
* An instant promotion that will be available the first time you log onto the game.

This will let you choose from several weapons and gadgets right off the bat—from a Herzog shotgun attachment to your assault rifle to a V5 EMP grenade available to the support class…and more.
