I would like it if they could fix the performance issue. My computer even runs FEAR on max settings at ~70fps average and BF2 runs at 40fps average in city maps on 64 player servers.

Im sure the typical moaners will start chanting in unison when it's released. It seems that people are always looking for something to complain about. The biggest one for a year was "Dont they test these patches!!!", so they test a patch and take their time on it. Next thing you know everyone is in a frenzy with the old "Aren't they ever going to release it!!!".
Doesn't seem like Dice makes anyone happy.

I just hope they fix the ctd and server stability issue...aside from that, everyone will whine because that's the nature of the beast with bf2.

As long as I can enjoy it, then obviously I'm happy .

Would be better to have an 'undecided' option, but I said yes - after the problems with the last X number of patches, I can't see that 1.4 will be any different, other than having a new map.

Please don't get me wrong, this is not a moan in any way shape or form, I just find it hard to trust 1.4 will be a good thing....

I think that this time they didn't ruined it they listened to the players but of course the patch will not be perfect and there will be things that people don't like but that has always been like this..

As far as I can remember, 1.4 was meant to be the last patch for BF2, ever - that is what I read.

I'm not complaining, don't jump into conclusions This patch is a disspointment for me because those two issues that a lot of people hate did not get fixed. As as far as I know, I think this patch was not meant to just fix the CTD's...

Is there a source associated with this? I heard it straight from Colin that the patch was to be mostly optimization and created specifically to solve the technical issues involved with the current state of BF2. If someone, somewhere wrote a random thread claiming that the J10 would be fixed, the support/medic kit, and the now infamous "Chopper Nerf"; I wouldn't waste time buying into that just yet. But, if you know something that no one else does, please share your source.

As I mentioned before, I heard it directly from Colin what teh patch would consist of, including the new map and game mode of course.

Game was fine with patch 1.22 i think, 1.3 really messed everything up. Lag, Disconnect, crashes....never had that with other patches before...

I really hope this patch will work, or it: /delete BF2.

lol, its quite the opposite. The patches were made because of all you whining cry babys. IMO the game was fine when it came out and no patches should have been released, I had much more fun in this game before the nurf on infantry movement C4 / tube etc. I didn't use C4, but it was fun to play against the players that did. That comment is coming from an infantry only karkland whore btw, I guess for other maps things like BH was too over powered or whatever.

I don't know rather it will or not. Theres not a new Booster Pack that this patch was rushed out for is there? Thats usually where the two worst patches came from. Over-all though BF2 is still kind of a buggy game. EA has yet to do anything other then nerf the SF Helicopters, and the latest thing to get nerfed on those were the missile count. Which isn't to bad. The helicopter lag still exist though.

yep i agree, for the majority of us, it will be good, sure there will be winers and babies crying about something, but there always is, every patch. I cant wait for it... mainly NO server crashes (hopefully)
