Instead of backing up.. ....
another nice technique is to gun your vehicle forward so their missles overshoot.

If you can get past plane/heli, spin your turret + chance to inflict damage from behind.
Calculate approx. where momentum will carry them.

I like the fact that the tanker can see the heat coming down and there is nothing he can do. Totally helpless.
