Its a fact...This cheat interface has been around for while...EA/DICE is not gonna fix it!!!

Cheaters or not, I am not buying 2142. The problems as of late with BF2, is why I am going to buy quake wars. Its futuristic like 2142, and it is being made by a different company that seems to have more pride in the quality of their game, hence the recent delay on the release.

To be noted, I am not a real PC gamer(never even played a quake game). The first real PC game I have played is BF2. While the game is really fun, CTD and server drops suck. I'm not saying quake wars will not have the same issues, but what the hell I'm gonna roll the dice.

LOL. I love all these "we are being over run with cheaters" comments. While I do not deny the existance of cheaters, I have to say that an all of my hours of playing (and there have been allot of them) I have only ever seen 2 maybe 3 people I really thought were cheating.

Remember, just because someone kills you, doesn't mean they are cheating LMAO. I will buy 2142 and if there are cheaters, I will kill them quickly and quietly like I do all others.

I'm probably going to try 2142, but I doubt that it's going to be flawless. People will find bugs, exploits and noobs will whine, EA will give new patches and new bugs. That's my opinion.

I agree with madmech that I've probably never seen a cheater. I only play on PB ranked servers, that's probably why.

Yeh, i agree - people over exagurate the existance of cheaters.

Although they do exist and they do ruin the game, the exsistence of them is slowly decreasing.

PS: when are they releasing 2142?

All you have to to is look. They are not always obvious (except the smacktards). But if you pay attention you will see 3-5 in any given server. I avoid 24/7 kark servers now as I can spot 6-10 of them in any 24/7 kark server. But I understand why you don't see them, you need to use the spectate mode and that is very bad for your SPM stats.

If there not that noticeable, then there not that good so who cares. I can tell you this without a shadow of a doubt, true skill will beat a cheater any day as those who cheat have very little skill. Most people cant stay alive long even with cheats.

Most "cheats" can be attributed to bugs, glitches or lag.

Nah I'll pass on BF2142. Battlefield 2 is an alright game but there's a few things I don't like about it.

1.) With 2 gigs of RAM, a Pentium 4, an ATi Radeon 9800 Pro - I can only play the game with 30-40 FPS with everything on medium and low. That is, on non-Special Forces maps! On SF Maps I am constantly at 20 FR and below (a shame because I tend to enjoy SF maps the most!) This isn't BAD by any means, but considering the engine's graphics suck *** without everything on high, I can't even consider moving everything down to low for BF2142. The shadows flicker, the textures look like shat, etc.

2.) I hate all these vehicles in Battlefield 2. I'm all for vehicles, but if it's going to be people running around in tanks camping and obliterating the base you spent 5 minutes working for with a squad, that isn't cool. Now that Spec Ops has been neutered (I'm still stuck a few patches back guys, I stopped playing a few months ago and just picked it up again a few days ago) and can't throw the C4 too far, I feel like I wasted my SCAR-L unlock; I don't want to get unlocks based on how good they are at one patch only to regret it at the next one like in BF2142. The anti-tank still takes a long time to take out a tank, so that doesn't help the cause either. There's too much riding on vehicle dominance, and I feel the vehicle control system is just clunky and unrealistic for a game that depends on it so much. POINT BEING: Battlefield 2142 has even MORE vehicles that play a MORE integral part of the game, and seeing that I don't like vehicles in BF2 I can't see how I'd like this game.

3.) EA is just not my cup of tea. Thanks to games like Medal of Honor: Frontline being #8 of the best-selling video game of all time, they can now sell that franchise on name alone. Battlefield 2 may be the same, who knows?

4.) I bought Battlefield 2 largely for mods. It'll probably be ANOTHER year until a full-conversion mod that changes gameplay comes out!

5.) I hate this engine graphic-wise. You need a killer PC to play it with it not looking like shat, and I don't have a killer PC. I know it's my problem, just a complaint from a guy that isn't a hard-core gamer.

I know a lot of these are ridiculous to some of you. "If you don't like vehicles go back to CS noob!!" I'm just stating why I won't buy it :P

PS - I agree with the OP on the cheating statement. While I have to give props to EA for having a great anti-cheat system in place (or at least, if there's cheaters, I don't notice them..), it's definitely true that any cheats you see in BF2 are going to be the ones in BF2142!

Bf2 is a poor engine most game eninge and puposly buildt to accomidate most system specs not jsut the super omfgroflwaffles ones for exspample the half life 2 engine was build to run on super low spec and super high soe very one is a winner and they didi this becasue of the time they put in. Ea rushed bf2 many things were elft out and due to teh rushed time it has the thing of only people with uber pcs will run it ok . My pc runs most new games fine but bf2 is a pile of crap. The game play is fine i have nothing agaist this its fine and im sure the 2142 will also be great but the engine specs are terrible so i hope qw is better and pushes of battlefield series so then maybe they will go back to there routes and make a game for gameplay and not graphics.

Yesterday I saw a countdown of 70+ days. So somewhere in the middle of October.

It really seems to be a basic human need to whine ... most of you here bitching about not buying BF2142 will still end up buying it so ...

The best cheaters you will never even discover. It's only the dumb cheaters who get caught. Fortunately most cheaters are dumb.
