No, what you do is make your own objects_server.zip and add it to your server achives. (Make an empty folder for your mod)

I mean would I need to make a copy of the C/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/mods/BF2 rename the copy and mess around with that one?

huh? nope edit the kits in editor if you find osme tutorials it makes it hell lot eaiser

I don't want it on ranked servers or in multiplayer at all..I just want to knife some bots

Just edit the kit files and gameplayobjects.con file.

Would it be possible to make a singleplayer knife mod? Take the vehicles out of karkland and edit the kits so only the knife is there? We could go on a bot knifing spree.
