For the sake of variety, I think it would have been cool to give the MEC the Su-25 instead of the Su-34 in vanilla, BUT you have to remember that each "bomber" in this game, is actually a fighter-bomber with dual air and ground attack capabilities; the Su-25 is almost entirely a ground attack jet (much like the A-10) and so it wouldn't really fit with any fairness into an environment where a dogfight might be required (i.e. BF2 vanilla)

I think the MiG-29 / Su-34 combo is a good choice for the MEC force.

Too big, doesnt work in BF2 standards. You can easily make a difference between a fighter and a bomber, and fighters eat bombers for breakfast with cannons. Tracing a MiG with cannons for example, is easier than F18, or even F35B, last one which is small...

MiG-29 was a good concept, its nice in size, almost fitting other jets, its a pure fighter.

As for Sus, Russia sold China the rights to make Su-30MKII, so there you go.

Man, out of all the bombers I LOVE to fly shotgun with the PLA Su, the above view is simply amazing. Its a shame that its so damn foggy in Daqing.

this isnt about appearance to stop judging by that, my point is two teams that arnt even allies, have the same design Jet 2 SU's the SU-34 and SU-34 i mean the MIG031 was for instance, EA could have chosen another planes insted of 2 SU designs.

The MIG looks way cooler than some Sukhoi POS. I'd have loved to have the MIG-31 over the SU-34.

The Su-34's got a graceful design. The Mig-31 IS ugly.

As stated.. the MiG-31 is a long-range interceptor; not a bomber. Eitherway, it wouldn't make much sense in a game like BF2.

The Su-34 is much more appropriate being that it's a relatively advanced fighter/bomber, comparable to the F-15E

they are not EXACTLY the same....the Su-34 has a different sitting arengment and it also has canards.

If i rember correctly the Mig-31 can carry 2 bombs max while the Su-34 was designed as a bober and can carry more of them

the MIG-31 is capeable of holding bombs, and as for the Su-34 looking better, you may aswell stare at the SU-30 look exactly the same.

mig-31 is a high attitude, long range, supersonic bomber interceptor. i dont think that it is even capable of loading bombs.

su-30 on the other hand :)
