I've been on a round like that before, as US. You don't need to capture the flags as long as you kill everything that moves. :)

Normally we end up doing a lot of sneaking, or Suburb gets taken, and then it's a protracted fight. Sometimes they get stalled and bleed out, sometimes all the bases get taken.

This was just the first time I'd ever seen the US win even though they were held to a standstill at the start of the game.

Most people playing karkand dont care about capping flags. if they did, then u would see a lot of people sneaking either up the hill on the left, or along the walll on the right....

but people just want action. which is why they all fight at hotel.

seriously, DICE should release a Deathmatch mode. Basically what Karkand is.

occasionally i will run across a serious noob server where the entire USMC team rushes the hotel and gets nothing but beaten senseless.(its especially frustrating when ur USMC on a 64 server and u cant switch w/out being kicked/banned.)

Disputing it a couple times helps, at least it stops the bleed for a few precious seconds. What your referring to is the ability to outkill them AND overcome bleed for an entire round. You loose 10 tickets each minute with the bleed on....

It's not hard to get hotel. Just sneak or make a mad run for the ladder and get on deck to cap it. They usually chuck nades in to get rid of you but if you position yourself right you can easily avoid them enough to cap it white. Then usually teammates show up by that time to take it. Shows how crappy most BF2 players are since they don't even bother going up to gun down the person capping the flag. Most people think grenades will just take care of everything :hmm:

If you are talking about this specific flag, please note that you can get on roofs from where you can see the flag. 1 roof (closer to USMC starting point) get usually covered, but second - most of people don't know how to get there. Search the forums for "Karkand secrets". You can jump on some buildings with help of buggy/crates

It always amazes me when USMC doesn't try to take east bank flags. A single decent squad can sneak pass MEC and take almost the whole east river bank forcing MEC to fight on both fronts therefore giving advantage to US.

But hey, you get more kills fragging at hotel, right?

Yep...USMC won plenty of times eventhough they never got past the Hotel. With a commander dropping artillery and usually the USMC has the better players (or at least players with higher ranks), it happens more often than not.

I've seen MEC win when they only had the Factory flag left...it really comes down to how well the armor plays on each side, I believe.

Generally MEC wins when at least 1 APC hangs back and stops or immediately takes back a flag that was just captured, while the other APC and tank, who are both engineers, stick together.

Hard to kill 2 engineers in armor next to a supply crate.

sorry, i rather knock out 2-5 out of 5 of you on the flag @ the hotel with the nades and then charge up the stairs with my gun.

What is really strange is that you can take all the flags except 1 in Wake, & STILL LOSE

Yeh did that many times its just virtually impossible to get by hotel but its good with all the fighting in the alleys hehe
