we had same questions
seems there IS an hours requirement
son has about 220,000 points and 1350 hours
and has 2 stars
we think he will get 3rd star at 1440 hours?

ok, i got it. your son has 1357 hours. he will need 1440hrs to get LG. will be v easy since it jus a matter of time.

Hmm, got all badges Veteran or Expert.
116,500 in 832 hours.

I think the way it works is that you need all of the badges by the time that you are eligible for General, because that is how it worked with First Seargeant. I'm not sure about the hours though.

If you are good at math, you can look at your SPM and figure out whether you will have the points or the time first.

I also have planned the Veteran to follow the two-star path to general. (Similar to the 1st SGT/Master Sgt path)

I looked at the hours that is required 1440, I decided that I will literally put in the time while playing with less points per round so that I will accrue 1440 before I hit 180,000. I already got 630+ for only 65,000 global. At this rate I will probably be 130,000 global at 1300 hours. No problem.

Since Im a casual gamer with 10 hours or more each week, that should not be too difficult.

I'm not exactly sure on how the general ranks work either. I'm not worried about getting my badges after I get my points, because I should be all expert by then... but lets says you don't have the time for the expert badges and you get them after the point and time requirements... do you still rank up to general?

U need special requirements for General ranks.
I have all the badges Veteran or Expert, so thats all ok.
But hat about the hours? 1080 and 1440 hours seem unlogical.
But that aside.
If i get 180,000 pionts before i get 1080 hours, will i not get General ranks? or will i just get them later.
Cuz with First Sergeant u couldnt gte the rank anymore, but that where award req.
Secondly i dont believe all those people who have the General ranks, (300,000) got 120,000 since the change, so it seems like u can get it even after passing 180,000. Unlike with First Sergeant)
