In a way, the MEC and Chinese are very similar. Their assault rifles are about the same, their sniper rifles ARE the same (besides scope), anti-tank are same except clip. The engineer, spec ops, and support are all different, however, which would seem to warrant an MEC vs. China, especially since the Chinese weapons in all these classes are the same as the USMC. The Chinese are basically a combination of MEC and USMC, but with a different designation. I think it would have been interesting to have had an army that was a combination of the MEC and USMC in the exact opposite way, where the engineer, spec ops, and support would have been like the MEC and the sniper, medic, and assault would be like USMC. If anyone is thinking about doing a mod, try making up an army like this and see how it works. It may be a fun combo.

As a side note, in the SF expansion pack the Spetsnasz face Rebels in the maps Mass Destruction and Surge which is about as close as you can get to an MEC vs China that EA gave us, so my suggestion is that you play these maps to simulate an MEC/China encounter.

Who cares about the realities of a china vs mec battle. This is just a game.

I just think it would be interesting to have both sides face each other. Each side has very good weopons.

Here is a background story for a MEC vs China custom map I have in the works. Could be an Idea why these two nations would have an argument...

"When the US siezed the large Oilfields in Manchuria, China became a bit nervous about what would happen with the rest of their oil supplies. And since China also buys alot of oil and Gas from other countries, they start looking at the neighbouring Kazakstan. The large Oilfields and Pipelines from this country, provides China with a huge amount of oil and gas each day. To prevent the US from closing these supplies as well, China mounts a surprise attack against kazakstan.
Having a small and poorly trained military, the Kazaks are caught completely off guard, when the Chinese Army rushes into the country from the border. With the effectiveness of a german WW2 "BlitzKrieg", china soon has control of the eastern Kazak Oilfields.
Kazakstan complains in the U.N. and desperately asks other countries for help. But no one is able to aid, them since the US and EU are occupied in eastern China, and Russia decides to be Neutral. Only the the Middle Eastern Coalition stands up for Kazakstan, since the country has a large muslim population and a lot of Arab Immigrants. Therefor a large MEC-army is sent off to the former USSR-republic, to help defend it against the Infidel Chinese invaders."

And so the Fighting begins...

Wow, greatly written. Wouldn't mind playing that map. :)

Why the **** would China even think of challenging MEC and vice versa, when US is on its ass? Its like us challenging Russia in WWII. Much better to be allies then fighting like 4 nations.

In 1939 the Soviets and Germany had a non-aggression pact. Then Germany invaded Russia.

In the 80's there was the Iran and Iraq war, Iraq being supported by the US, now the US has invaded Iraq.

Also in the 80's the US supported Bin Laden and the Afghans in there fight against soviet oppression. Now Bin Laden is the number one bad guy in the world.

Besides I never looked at BF2 as anything other than a computer game, never as a story line nor a reflection of world politics. To me, in war there are no good or bad guys, war is just the inhumane slaughter of human beings by other human beings.

It's unfortunate when it happens, but a reality of the human condition.

very well said..there is nothing fun or 'cool' about war and death in its reality....but with computer games it doesn't really matter

Now, its more like Iran vs. N. Korea which doesent make sense, because they both plan to nuke us in some way.

There are a couple of reason for one it doesn't fit the story line. Alot of their vehicles are the same. We're not going to get a map like this from EA.

In war there aren't always bad guys and good guys.

During the Soviet (communist) and Afghan war (MEC), who were the bad guys?
It all depends on what side of the border you were born on that determines who the bad guys are.

Why would MEC fight China...in the game they're both the bad guys (since USMC are supposed to be the good guys). And then who will be the bad guys if they fight with each other....the terrorists or the comunists
