So please think a little before you call all pilots evil.
I didnt say ALL, I said most and it is by far and large most pilots. You can argue till you are blue int eh face, but on every server nearly everygame pilots behave like selfish, noob stat padders. Good team working pilots are few and very far between.

Also a pre-required award for jets wouldnt work. The only way to sort the problem out is to do what they did for commanders and arty, by changing the point system for jets. That would soon drastically drop the number of people trying to get the jets yet still elave it as a useful option that would reward team players.

There's a bright side to air whores. Sneak to the enemies airfield and you'll get a lot of easy kills on the guys lined up waiting for aircraft. You can usually kill them all several times before anyone bothers to hunt you down, because they don't want to lose their chance at getting in the air.

When it's my squad leader wasting his spawn point in the air I'll spam him until he resigns. If he doesn't or the pilots are just useless during the first half of the round, I know it isn't going to get any better so I just switch servers. And as for the OP, if it's your server just enforce some rules. Life's to short to let pricks ruin your fun.

Just how do you spam him, my friend?? also, i hope you dont join the squad after hes already in the air, perhaps in a solo squad? i do that sometimes, because i find communicating with the commander to be very useful.

In pubs, Id be damn lucky to see ONE functional squad. Thats 6 people, 6 out of 32 is... less than 20%, that means, 80% of pub groundpounders and useless cargo. At least thats what I would say if I was a bitter, generalizing 13 year old player who got out of an unsuccessful Wake game .

Then I guess on not one of the most jet whores, I actualy use team work in the air. First thing I do is start a squad and jump in a jet, not my fault im first in game :p

Then I will take out anything close to our flags, then fly back to our main to see if there is any enemy jet trying to camp, easy targets when they do.

All game I hear "N2K take this heli out plz"

            "N2K clear this flag"

"N2K take out the J10 plz"

I accomplish all that plus more, if i hear commander over coms a flag is about to turn gray, find me bombing it to hell

So sorry if you get own by jets or try to take a jet, I guess everyone got tired of the "tank at karkand ranting"

Chris Redfield (RE sux btw ) IF that was aimed at me, 1) I havent even played today so I cant have "just" got out of an unsuccesful wake game, 2) am I supposed to be 13? lol why because I generalise? I'm 25 BTW.

I was merely pointing out that, where its not uncommon for many players in BF2 to be stat padders, selfish and generally not contribute towards team gaming, the jet pilots are by far the best example of this. You, my firend, are just upset because my origiginal post struck home and you recognised mroe of your own qualities than you would like to let on, I'm sure. Im sure your stats are domiated with air related victories and kills , and also proably littered with team kills and quite sparse on team points.

              Care to correct me?

Now this isnt simply because I get killed way too many times by jet pilots either bombing me into the ground repeatedly at a spawn, or even machine gunning me down from over a kilometer away, its not even the fact that they are dificult to counter measure on many maps because of the lack of decent mobile AA guns. This hatered goes much deeper. To me they compeltely spoil the game because so many bloody people try to use them to stat pad their own scores and say to hell withthe rest of the team.

Many of these "leet" pilots will do anything to get in a bloody jet, and if you by some fortuante chance are the first person in one at the start of a map you can certainly expect to be TKed by one fo these uber leet pilots who considers themselves to be much better than you, therefore must kill you to take the jet from you. . Failing that, you can expect some nob end to throw themselves in front of you to make u TK them so they can punish you. Or their other bitter favourite trick is to C4 your jet and let u take off b4 detonating! The 4 points they lose as punishment doesnt matter as they will soon be earnign more points once they are in t he sky.

Most jet pilots will do ANYTHING to get to the jet spawn point:-

                - TK
                - Taking the teams only tank to use to get to the jet spawn point
                - Using the only transports to get there
                - blowing up someone elses jet to get it to respawn.
                - Taking the attack chopper to get to the enemies air strip
                - Ignore the enemies flags in order to get the 'Holy' J10
                - Ignoring commander/squad leader orders in order to go get the jet (and usually takign the squads onyl mode of transprot to make their journey quicker, and to mow down their team mates who are also trying to do the same thing!)

Initially they join a squad, usuall the biggest squad or the squad withtheir mates in. Oviously this is a waste of time becuause they wont be taking orders from their squad leader and cant capture flags if they are in their jet! Their own spin on squad orders is much better, they have their own ideas as to how they can contribute to the squad. When the squad leader is instructing people to get to a flag he obviously doesnt mean the guy int he jet, he obviously want this jet guy to "help the team" by killing the guys spawning on the enemies main base.

If they went in their own suad this would be more useful as at lest the commander could TRY to order them to objectives. But these guys know better than any commander or squad leader anyway, they can win this battle on their own so no orders will be relevant to them.

Once the typical BF2 jet fighter is in the air, particuarly on maps like wake when they are the chinese, they see it as their dutry to stop the enemy getting to the main island, taking all their teams share of the kill points, meaning that the other 99% of their team are left stranded on the island with nothing to do because the jet pilots are taking all the kills by spawn raping the enemy. However spawn raping doesnt apply to them, its only the commanders who arent allowed to attack the opposition main base! By taking out the enemy they are ensuring the team wins, it doesnt matter if everyone else is resigned to sitting at an empty with nothing to do.

Once a full on battle is underway you would think this would be where the aviators shine and they would do their team duties and help their team by at least attacking their squad leaders objective flags. They would be a great asset if they were used to clear the way for the land bourne attack force, taking out all the enemy troops, gun emplacements or more importantly heavy armour at the objective enemy flag But alas, no, once they are in the air there is just one way of bumping their score and that is spawn raping! The best way to really rack up the points and improve on that frag rate and win some awards is to attack the enemies main airstrip base, especially if the enemy is the US and on the carrier.

Repeatedly flying over their air strip will almost cerainly meant you get to take out the enemy who are also not contributing to their team by camping the jet and chopper spawns.

Occasionally the typical jet pilot does lend out a helping hand and drops a bomb on your intended flag ,... while you are taking it, thus killing your entire squad in one fatal sweep. Sometimes they do give the "sorry, my bad" call sign but usually they dont.

You and your team respawn, at your main base, however theres an enemy tank there spawn raping your team! You eventually find cover and you are down to you last bar of health! Sureely this is a job for the Iron birds - they can swoop in and take this steel beast out with one swift bombing campaign!

You call in your "maverick", point out the armor,
                "enemy armor spotted"
                ..... nothing, maybe he's resupplying...
                ....you wait
,.....your flag is starting to go
                ..........."enemy armor spotted".........
                still nothing
.......................you finally have to risk being slottted while defensless and typing a message to your pilots:-

"can you guys come bomb the enemy tank, we are pinned down and losing our flags fast"

                ......

                no reply.

                You try again

                "HEY PILOTS<>> CAN YOU CO...."

mid sentance you are knifed by the tank driver who has finally captured the flag and given up waiting for you to come out of your hiding place.

So the inevitible happens and your team are now losing, you are down to your last flag and the enemy are bombing and artying the hell out of your last base, your team are unlucky enough to be losing badly. God know how they would be losing with the "king of the sky" on their team ::), but if they are. Its at this point you need every man in your team to attack a flag, your airstrip is long gone and your flyboys are all out of ammo.

Surely these guys to birdman to an undefended flag and quickly capture it to get the guys whoa are dead back into the game, aren't they? No one could be that dumb, stubborn or selfish could they? No it's not that its just that these guys have an even BETTERr plan, they will fly around the map, until everyone on their team is dead. That way the opponants cant get them, unless they get in a jet, and there is NO WAY the opposition are as good as them in a jet, not a chance, not even when they themselves have no ammo! So they then proceed to fly around the map for about 10 minutes while their dead comrades sit bored looking at a rubbish team score and cursing their twat pilots.

The game is over but these guys refuse to be killed, they are true BF2 kings! ::)

Most jet pilots are the same, complete tosserswho are only interested in racking up points and are alergic to capturing flags. God knows why they even bother to join a squad because they have nointention of following orders or helping their squad out. The game is so unbalanced towards jets, paticuarly J10's. There needs to be more AA ****er measures on many maps and better punishments dished out for people who TK jet pilots. Also a better way of scoring points for members who DO follow orders and less points for jet kills in hones opinion.

I know I'm going to get a load of 12 year old fly boys now defending their maverick antics and saying stuff like i suck at flying or just kill jets with other jets but its all BS. In many servers its far too dificult to try and get into a jet and there is way too much TKing going on for them and Attack choppers, and thats a fact.

Anyway, let the attacking of my opinions commence... :)

its not ALL pilots... and im sure theres a website dedicated to this kind of post.

                maybe he's bad with jets?

Re: Why I hate jet pilots (My rant)

You people need to learn to lead your air targets.

A jeep with a machine gun can be a useful air defense. You probably wont kill a full health jet, but if you lead your target right, you can have the satisfaction of a string of flashing hit indicators which could drive it off so that it has to do 37 runway passes to repair. Mobile AA is very useful in terms of ground defense, lock on and fire four missiles and then lead with your cannons. The 50 cal on top of the tank is useful if a jet is coming straight at you, more than enough to make it think twice. The CIWS turret on the ESSEX is a J10 eating monster. Hell, i took a Jet out with a DAO once.

Bottom line is that jets wont fall out of the sky by themselves, you have to work for it. Aim UP!

                    Everyone hates something.

I hate stupid infantry who dont spot enemy armor, planes, helos etc

I hate stupid infantry who dont know how to take over flags.

I hate stupid infantry who never try to work as a team.

I hate stupid squad leaders who dont know when to stay hidden and concealed near a flag so their squad can continue to spawn on him.

I hate stupid commanders who dont know what a satellite or UAV is.

                    etc etc etc.

Im 21, the youngest wingman I have had is 16, most are older than I am, and the oldest wingman I have had was 56 year old kickass pilot. You say were 12, since you want to look like "better" than the rest of the pilots, Ill grant you your wish- youre now 13 year old creaming brat that screams just a little less than a teamkilling, teambombing dumbass 12 year ols pilot .

No, think about it. Youll hardly notice a tankwhore, youll hardly notice a medic, reviving teammates in front fo armor at all chances, and generally playing for himself than his teammates. BUT, since theres only 2 jets per team, and they usually get more than 1 kills per turn, they get noticed. And so the stereotypes are developed. Its pathetic to watch 8 guys jumping at a plane spawn, but its even more sad to see 32 players sit on the carrier even though the way to the land is free... catch my drift? However, those 32 will not be remembered, one guy, the guy who had to run over 3 griefing scumbags, that guy gets remembered, and thus again, stereotypes are formed.

the jet pilots are by far the best example of this.
Wrong, jet pilots are just the most noticed, they stand out because of the jets. They are solo.

You, my firend, are just upset because my origiginal post struck home and you recognised mroe of your own qualities than you would like to let on,
 , you really give yourself way too much credit. I just HATE the dumb hatred infantry players have towards pilots, and they dont even make a difference between good and bad pilots, just flame on. And thats funny. Ive told many times, I have never been thanked for saving a flag, nor a squad, from armor. Amazing, you can clear the whole beach in Wake, and they wont budge from the carrier. Whole team gets pushed onto the carrier in Oman/Dalian, and the team wont budge until the end of the round. I BAIL from the jet, get a distant flag, just turned it, and made a spawnpoint for the guys. Guess what happens. I get killed and flag gets turned without any fight.

I honestly have more problems with inexperienced and stupid people on the LAND, than inexperienced and stupid people on air. And when I cant take off because Im being baseraped, Im just going to hide myself, to save tickets, or go fight on land. And I´ll be damned if Im going to develop a sad case of pointjealousy, as it is with you.

I'm sure. Im sure your stats are domiated with air related victories and kills , and also proably littered with team kills and quite sparse on team points.
Correct, I, althoug will never say no to a good quality land fight, suck on land. I only join the action on the land when A) we have competent pilots airbourne B) my regular squaddies join the game. I wont even start wasting my nerves on teamplay otherwise. Im good in jets, and I can help the team my own way, in a jet, while having my own fun.

As for teamkills. I have one TK for 120.6 kills. I wouldnt say its that bad at all. Considering that I got a lot of TKs while fighting griefers, unlucky engineers repairng my tank, and teammates blowing up my claymores.

                      Care to correct me?
Youre jealous of the score that pilots get. Its pretty obvious here.

Read the thread son, I even highlighted the fact I say MOST. And by far it is MOST.

This is a BF2 board, clearly titled, even with a hint that this is just a rant , the hint to this was the "MY RANT" in the title, so forgive me if this has taken too much of your time up or its ont eh wrong board (this is a general bf2 board is it not?) Jesus christ, this is why I hate you jet guys so much , MOST of you are bunch of pure idiots, either that or you have the mental age of 8.

I was making a rant and voicing my opinions, I generalised based on my 400+ hours of gaming and the responses from the jet fan bois has been poor to be honest. Most of their responses have been less than 2 lines, so it gives a great insight into their interlect. I go to the trouble of stating my OPINIONS and even offer my reasons behind there opinions and I get replies like "maybe he's bad with jets" - it doesnt even make sense you fool!

WRONG. You notice every type of vehicle whoring, aswell as every bad commander or stat padder, more so since thee are actually a fair few maps that dont even have jets, but every map has a commander or armored vehicles.

I even made a point of saying several times that the whole community is riddled with these types of player, but jet pilots, in my opinion are the worst offenders. This is simply because these guys are indeed quite noticible, but not only that, they are LESS useful than other forms of vehicle whores. Also they are also a lot harder to take out, than say a chopepr or tank whore.

Wrong, jet pilots are just the most noticed, they stand out because of the jets. They are solo.
Face it, jet whores contribute NOTHING to the team excpet kill counts that rob the game of the fun for the rest of the players. Its no dun for the otehr 60 playes who are constantly being bombed or sitting doing nothing while their planes go off and take care of the enemy as they spawn.

They rarely react to order, they often team kill, both deliberately and accidentaly (through poor bombing raids) and they use things like tanks and jeeps just to get to teh air field quicke. They then spend the whole game either circling the map not helping the flag capturing, spawn raping or camping the jet spawn. If they are such good team players why dont they let someone else ont eh team take the next jet while they go capture a flag?

 , you really give yourself way too much credit. Whole team gets pushed onto the carrier in Oman/Dalian, and the team wont budge until the end of the round. .

What credit did i give myself? WTF u talking about? Not once did I name or single out anyone, I generalised yes because it is a very large portion of jet pilots who do this. If you are saying otherwise you are either a jet whore yourself (which its becoming apparant you are) or you are burying your head in the sand.

I BAIL from the jet, get a distant flag, just turned it, and made a spawnpoint for the guys. Guess what happens. I get killed and flag gets turned without any fight
Again, did i name you? did i come here saying "redfield is the biggest jet whore on bf2?" no. I generalised. To the best of my knowledge i havent even played on a server with you. You took my generalisation personally, i didnt a say you were good bad or even ugly. The only reason you could have took my OPINION personally was if, as i say, you seen glimmers of your own game play in my generalisation. If you are saying the thigns i escribed dont happen on a regular basis all I can say is you must play on a very secluded and sheltered server or you must be very new to the game.

I honestly have more problems with inexperienced and stupid people on the LAND, than inexperienced and stupid people on air. And when I cant take off because Im being baseraped, Im just going to hide myself, to save tickets, or go fight on land
No doubt there are idiots who do similar and stuid things on land, i never once said there werent. I just hink its not as extreme or as common as it is amoung our fly boi friends. For instance, although it does happen, how many times have you been TK'd so someone else can have the full 4 points for capturing a flag ? or TK you for the tank? It does happen sure, but no where near as often as jet pilots TK for planes.

. And I´ll be damned if Im going to develop a sad case of pointjealousy, as it is with you.
Now you are being a complete child. I was ranting, I said that. I was making an opinion about something in game that annoys me. Your opinions of wheather I am doing it cos I am jealous of point scoring is here eitehr here nor there. I never once said it was, in fact my rant is actually more towards the lack of team play, which is the continuing theme of my posts. The points thing came from your mouth, i cant help it if jets are the stat padders vehicle of choice. It just boils my **** when they hide behind excuses like "oh yea 40-0 kills is helping the team" - BOLLOCKS

althoug will never say no to a good quality land fight, suck on land. I only join the action on the land when A) we have competent pilots airbourne B) my regular squaddies join the game. I wont even start wasting my nerves on teamplay otherwise. Im good in jets, and I can help the team my own way, in a jet, while having my own fun.
as above - BOLLOCKS. You use jets because its a safe and easy way of killing without retribution.

As for teamkills. I have one TK for 120.6 kills. I wouldnt say its that bad at all. Considering that I got a lot of TKs while fighting griefers, unlucky engineers repairng my tank, and teammates blowing up my claymores.
again, at what point in my opinions did I say you were teh worst jet pilot ever? FFS get it into your head. Not one person is going to come on ehre and say "oh eya I hold my hands up im a **** jet pilot, i never listen to instructions, i freely bomb my own team and I often TK for the jet. Does this mean it doesnt happen? Does this mean it rarely happens , NO!

Youre jealous of the score that pilots get. Its pretty obvious here.
                            [/QUOTE]

No im just sick of being tk'ed, having bombs dropped on me when im taking flags, sick of losing half my team because they are all waiting at the jet spawn, sick of losing games because half the team are busy fighting over the jet then getting tked and sick of having GGz spoiled by childish stat padders, thats all. I made no mention of points mate.

As for things being obvious, its quite clear to see what you do all game every game fly boi:)

Not if you dont want to, but why bother replying? If you havent got the concentration or the intelect to follow a debate thread you shouldnt bother spamming it mate.
