I have the same cpu as you, also same case, if you are not going to Oc dont bother, i have the gigabyte PRO Rocket cooler, the house sits about 72 degrees, and at iddle the CPU is like at 32 to 33, under load, i might hit 45
If you want the best way to cool your cpu, do the following:
1.)open your case (make sure you turn the power off 1st)
2.)remove existing motherboard (remove your power cables, memory, and all pci, agp/pcie cards 1st) unbolt it
3.)insert a 939 socket Mobo, bolt it down
4.)insert ANY AMD 939 based CPU, affix stock cooling unit (AMD runs 20-30% cooler than Intel)
5.)insert memory, power cables, cards, etc.
<P>Reinstall O/S (you will have to since the Nforce and Via chipsets are too different from the Intel chippies)

What are you talking about? Those reviews look great to me. Stuff like "Its a little big" and "its a little heavy" isn't a reason to not buy a really good fan. Just make sure it fits, thats all. As for the temperatures, try Motherboard Monitor. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...RSS,RSS,00.asp
THe three best heatsinks are the scythe ninja, the zalman 9500, and teh thermaltake big typhoon, also teh XP-120 if u mount a good fan on. I wouldn't recommend the Zalman as much JUST because u can't replace the fan, the ninja, Big T, and teh XP-120 u can get a nice 120mm fan with 100+CFM, which gets a lot of airflow. Also, teh Zalman is expensive, i personally would go for the Big T, but i'm KINDA biased towards TT (thermaltake), second choice for me is the ninja.
The Thermalright SI 120 took the crown from the XP 120 recently.
Are u sure, teh SI-120 is just the XP-120 raised up a bit (to not obscure the memory slots and stuff like that), and it doesn't have the lower fins (the ones that touch the base of the heatsink). THe SI-120 doesn't have ANY contact with the base except through the heatpipes, the XP-120 has both heatpipes, AND fins.

Yep, in the reviews I've seen the SI 120 slightly edges out the older XP 120 by 1-2 degrees. Doesn't win by a huge margin, but it is their new flagship.

Wow, cool, it's cheaper (on newegg), it doesn't block any PCI-e slots/mem slots, and it's better, wow, than in that case, in my recs for CPU HSF, i would switch the XP-120 and the SI-120. BUt i would still happily take the Big T.
