Ram help for a Dell System

For christmas i would like to buy some new ram. But since this is the time im buying ram i dont know which to get for my Dell Dimension 5200. I would like to upgrade to 1 gig of ram or possibly more, should i get x2 512 or just 1 GB. I've been on the UK Dell website but my model isnt on the list? My comp. is 2-3 years old. Does it have to be specifically Dell ram or any make? Im not bothered about high end ram makers, i will settle for cheap ones.Could someone please give me some pointers. Thxs

i once upgraded ram for my dell 4700. it doesnt have to dell ram becuase number 1 dell ram is way overpriced and number 2 they dont use "dell" ram they use samsung ram, or thats wat mine had. then u shuld download cpu-z and that will tell u wat kinda ram u need. since its an intel its probably ddr2 depending on how old it is.
