    i use power defragmenter:

which defrag tool is the very best?
    -power defragmenter
    -Ashampoo Magical Defrag
    -PerfectDisk
    -O&O defrag
    -Diskeeper

    criteria:
    -optimum defraging
-can defrag specific files to specific sections of the hd (bf2/system files up front)
-defrags while system is idle (or is that a bad thing for hd ware-n-tear)
    -can defrag pagefile

O+O Defrag can do a NAME defrag which sorts files by NAME and also can do a "stealth" defrag which uses less system resources. I use O+O for years now.

I use O & O Defrag. I go with the hard-core overnight job once every 3 months or so and it keeps my RAID volume running top notch.

I think its called "Access" mode, I cant rightly remember right now... but its the one what arranges the files on your system by their frequency of use. Stuff like BF2 and other games that you use a lot get pushed to the front.

well, i dont believe in spending money jus to buy a defrag software. i rather use the money on a new gfx card, ram, hdd etc. think thats y most peeps only use windows defrag. diskeeper 10 is a gd option though.

Perfect Disk or Diskeeper are both top class defragers.
They both offer a defrag before Windows starts, which moves all those system files. Personnally I prefer Diskeeper, but I haven't seen a performance difference between the two

you don't have to pay if you go to "those" kind of websites and be very careful...

Most people here are suggesting diskeeper. They all really do the same thing, you won't see much of a performance increase...
