The career mode shipping with FIFA 22 will finally allow players to create their own club to manage. This will come with the ability to create custom kits, stadiums, and more. Of course, you will have a full roster of players that you will get to manage.

These clubs will be available in the game's Manager Career mode, but they can be used in any of the game's leagues. It's important to note that your created club will replace an existing club. That club that gets replaced will be moved to the "Rest of the World" section.

Custom teams are created starting with a name. You can also choose from a preset nickname that is used by the commentators. You then assign your team a rival club, which is given a bit more importance and spotlight in news stories and the game's commentary. Players will also be able to customize both home and away kits, crest, and stadium. Kits can be customized with a choice of colors and patterns. Crests include a selection of designs and a single color choice. Stadiums can be set up with different seat colors, field patterns, net shapes, and you can even set up different tracks for when you score a goal and when you walk out on to the field. You can also choose a custom chant that fans will shout during a game.

You will be able to change things up between seasons if you so desire.

Custom teams will start out with a squad of computer generated players. You can, naturally, adjust these players as well. You will be able to select the overall rating of the squad, the average age of players, and adjust your budget to replace players you don't want.

As IGN notes, there are other changes coming to the Career Mode besides the addition of custom clubs. Player Career mode has gotten an overhaul. You can now come on as a sub, utilize a manager rating system, match objectives, player growth, a levelling system, skill tree, perks, and even watch cinematic sequences showing the dressing room. The game will now also try to better tell your personal manager or player's stories as you progress through the career. This includes the addition of commentary that talks about your achievements.

FIFA 22 is scheduled to release on October 1 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Only the Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S releases will include the next-gen Hypermotion technology.
