Respawn Entertainment is looking into a system that will apparently compensate players who have had their games of Apex Legends ruined by cheaters. This was revealed in the latest (and first) episode of Respawn Responds, in which the developers tackle some of the community's biggest questions and concerns.

Game designer Jason McCord talked about the negative impact cheaters have on other players. Should a player lose a match to a cheater, they are marked as having "lost" that round, no matter what. Respawn is looking at how to retroactively correct that.

“We are currently looking into what we can do for players that have had their game impacted by a cheater. This might look something like retroactive loss forgiveness, where you’ll get your RP back if we find that you had a cheater in your ranked match.”
Respawn is also looking at situations in which players who don't cheat are helped out by those that do. They want to properly punish these players as well. Respawn is able to detect if someone in a squad is cheating and carrying their two other squad mates to victory. However, despite being able to detect this, they still need to address other factors before dishing out punishments to those that won with cheaters.

In the upcoming Season 9 for Apex Legends, there will be a "ton" of Titanfall related content coming, so keep an eye out for that as well.
