The wilderness survival game has finally been announced for consoles.

Though it was first released into Steam Early Access back in 2018, a console release for Green Hell was not announced until last night. The long-awaited announcement from developer Creepy Jar will see this open world survival game hit the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this June.

Green Hell is a "hyper-realistic and critically-acclaimed survival title." As noted, it was released into Steam Early Access in 2018 and saw a full release on Steam in September 2019. Since then, the game has seen over 1.5 million players to date and has received quite a few improvements along the way.

The game features a mystery filled Story Mode where players come to aid a remote Amazonian tribe. There was also a co-op mode added that allows up to four players to try to survive at once. A number of player-requested features have been added along the way. Creepy Jar promises to continue delivering updates and improvements along the way.

One of those improvements planned already is a proper next-gen upgrade for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
