Deadline reports that film studio MGM has bought the rights to a book deal written by Ben Mezrich, called The Antisocial Network. This book deal will focus on the ongoing story of how Reddit's r/WallStreetBets took on Wall Street at their own game and seemingly won.

The film will be based off of Ben Mezrich's book that has yet to be written. If his name sounds familiar to you, it may be because his book, Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex Money, Genius and Betrayal, was made into The Social Network movie.

Now, this whole thing with GameStop stock and Reddit is so fresh the ink hasn't even had time to dry on most of the purchased stocks yet. However, that didn't stop Mezrich from making his book proposal by the end of last week. It also didn't stop MGM from picking up the movie rights on Friday of last week either.

Deadline also reports that Netflix is looking into making a movie about the GameStop stock as well.

In case you missed it, and I don't know how you could have, GameStop's stock price went from around $20 (USD) to a staggering $469 at its peak. This was mostly due to the users of r/WallStreetBets. The users there managed to capitalize on hedge funds that were shorting the stock, causing some of those hedge fund managers to lose literally millions if not billions of dollars in the process.

Meanwhile, everyday people like you and I are apparently earning tens of thousands, some of them even making millions on GameStop stock right now. Oh, if only I had gotten in on this while the getting was good.
