The Inventory Update for Fallout 76 was just released to some very eager fans today. This update kicks off a new year of upcoming content for the game that will also include improvements, fixes, and community requested features among other things.

First up is an increase to your Stash size. The increase this time is a 50% increase to player Stashes up to a maximum of 1,200 pounds. Players can now fill their Stashes up with gear, junk, and any odds and ends they may find during their adventures in the wasteland.

Also included in this update are improvements and additions to the Pip-Boy. This includes three new tabs added to the Pip-Boy menus.

  • New – This tab will keep track of all the items players gather during a play session, sorted by newest to oldest.
  • Armor – Armor receives its own menu tab so that players can keep their gear separate from their other Apparel.
  • Food/Drinks – Food and drinks are now split out from “Aid” into their own Pip-Boy Inventory tab. Chems and Serums will remain in “Aid.”
This update also makes improvements to stack weight. The studio says that "from now on, when players select any stackable item in their inventory, its Item Details in the Pip-Boy will show how much total weight that stack is consuming." This should help show players what their heaviest items are at a glance.

Players will now also get a faster look at what items and what their qualities are at a glance when looking at other player's Vending Machines on the map. The map now shows the number of 1, 2, and 3-star legendary weapons and armor that player is selling. It will also no longer display any empty categories.

Come February, the return of the Fasnacht event and a new Valentine's Day themed event will take place.
