EA reveals some of the new player counts that joined the ranks.

This past week, Star Wars Battlefront II was a free offering through the Epic Games Store (affiliate link). If you did not pick it up then, you can still pick it up now but it does come with a price (at least $39.99 USD).

The response was so great that it brought most of the Battlefront II servers down to their knees with the increased traffic. Server errors don't just happen for no reason, of course. They also don't happen if the increase in players is a small figure.

To that end, you may not be entirely surprised to hear that over 19 million people picked up Star Wars Battlefront II during its week long free promotion. EA was sure to point out that these 19 million new players came from the Epic Games Store promotion by way of a tweet.
