Tripwire Interactive announced today that they will have some nice graphical upgrades coming to the next-gen release of their "open-water, action-RPG," Maneater. Maneater on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X will get native 4K HDR support and run at a smooth 60FPS.
Not only that, but the team at Tripwire promises to include real-time ray tracing to the game, which should look pretty wild given that there is a lot of reflective surfaces when swimming at the water's surface. There will also be some enhanced lighting effects added just in general.
Xbox Series S owners will get the benefit of "increased graphical fidelity and frame rate." PC owners of the game? Well, PC owners will get next-gen updates in early 2021. Tripwire says that they will share information about those enhancements in the coming months.
All of this was announced at the same time the studio revealed they have sold 1 million copies of the game. A breakdown of platforms for that sales figure was not provided.
Those who currently own Maneater on the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 will get a free upgrade to the next-gen version of the game. The next-gen upgrade will be available on November 10 for the Xbox Series X|S and on November 12 for the PlayStation 5 in North America.
