Mortal Shell

We have a short update about Mortal Shell to share with you today. That short update is the fact that this action-RPG now has a worldwide release date of August 18. It is on this date that the game will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC from developer Cold Symmetry.

Today's release date announcement comes alongside a new trailer for the game. It shows off one of Mortal Shell's ranged weapons. That weapon just happens to be a bazooka-like weapon called the aptly named Ballistazooka. This weapon is capable of firing "heavy iron bolts at devastating speed." You will be able to impale enemies and pin them to the environment should there be a wall behind them.

Mortal Shell will launch at $29.99 (USD) on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The PC release is a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store (affiliate link) until later in 2021, at which point it will appear on Steam.

“Launching Mortal Shell worldwide is a dream come true,” said Cold Symmetry’s four co-founders - Andrew McLennan-Murray, Anton Gonzalez, Dmitry Parkin, and Vitaly Bulgarov - in a joint statement. “Our commitment to our fans is to create a soulslike game that is authentic, uncompromising and unrelenting. We were humbled by the popularity of the beta and we closely studied the feedback we received to create something that we are incredibly proud of.”

Playstack chief executive Harvey Elliott added: “Mortal Shell is already achieving the kind of pre-release metrics that would turn heads at any publisher, be it indie or triple-A. I am delighted that Playstack has delivered a publishing and marketing campaign that ensures the game gains the exposure and response it truly deserves. More than anything I can’t wait for fans around the world to finally play it from August 18th.”
