Zen Studios has just released their new game, Dread Nautical, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store (affiliate link). This game blends together elements of horror, strategy, roguelikes, and a little splash of RPG elements for good measure.
Dread Nautical finds players on an eerie cruise ship called the Hope. On the Hope, players will have to navigate through 20 randomly generated decks. They will need to gather food, supplies, weapons, and create alliances with other survivors. Why are players doing this? It's all being done in an effort to fight off some supernatural forces.
You'll probably die a lot, but the ultimate goal is to escape with your life. Well that all sounds simple enough. However, those who play games with roguelike elements know full well that it won't be easy. The fact that there are roguelike elements also means that the game offers up "hours of unique gameplay and replayability."
