Great game at a great price.
World War Z

For a limited time, you are able to acquire one of the games I considered to be one of the best games released in 2019 for absolutely free. Through the next week until April 2, you can get World War Z for free through the Epic Games Store (affiliate link, but it's free so...?).

World War Z is a co-op shooter developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive. It is inspired by the movie of the same name, which itself is based off of the book from Max Brooks. The free offering is just for the base game, though there is some optional DLC that you can pick up if you desire.

If you don't have a PC or just want to play this on the Xbox One, World War Z is on sale as a "Deals with Gold" item for 75% off. This Xbox focused sale runs until March 30.

Saber notes that as of right now, players on both PC and Xbox One can player PvE missions together along with the Horde Mode Z game type. This apparently only applies to matchmaking on official game servers. PlayStation 4 crossplay is said to arrive later in the future. The last update made to the game added in new weapon variants with unique perks. It also included some balance adjustments for PvE and the aforementioned horde mode. There are also four optional premium skins available to purchase separately or as part of the game's season pass.

If you've been looking for a fresh game similar to the Left 4 Dead franchise, this is the perfect fit for you. If you're looking for something a bit different, Epic Games Store is also offering Figment and Tormentor x Punisher for free until April 2.
