Rip and tear until it is done.
DOOM Eternal

A happy Friday to all you would-be Doom Slayers out there. Today marks the release of DOOM Eternal from id Software and Bethesda Softworks. This release is a direct sequel to the stellar 2016 DOOM and is available right now for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. All of your purchase options (save for Stadia) can be found here.

Most of you probably know what DOOM Eternal is all about by now. You are the Doom Slayer. You are fighting the mortally challenged from the depths of hell. You do so with a lot of big weapons, a lot of mobility, and a lot of visceral Glory Kills. This is all accomplished while listening to an adrenaline pumping soundtrack from Mick Gordon.

Experience an aggressive and engaging combat puzzle that challenges you to master new abilities and weapons in the biggest, fastest, deepest DOOM game ever created. Powered by idTech® 7 and set to an all-new pulse-pounding soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, DOOM Eternal expands on everything players loved about DOOM (2016), featuring a refined combat loop, new and returning classic demons, a powerful new arsenal, and unbelievable, never-before-seen worlds.
So far, DOOM Eternal is sitting at an average critic score of 90. I personally started a playthrough on Nightmare difficulty last night. To say that it's intense might be putting it mildly. There are definitely some issues with clipping into the level geometry though, which can be a fairly significant issue if it happens near the end of a lengthy battle.

DOOM Eternal is available on its own for $59.99 (USD) or you can pick up the Deluxe Edition for $89.99, which includes some added goodies. If you missed it, the DOOM Eternal launch trailer went live on March 12.

DOOM Eternal is available in Standard and Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes the Year One Pass which grants access to two campaign add-ons to release within the first year of DOOM Eternal’s launch date. These standalone stories explore the cataclysmic events that led to earth’s fall against the demons. The Deluxe Edition also includes the Demonic Slayer Skin for use in campaign and BATTLEMODE, along with the Classic Weapon Sound Pack.
