Xaviant just announced that their upcoming horror title, Don't Die, Minerva!, will be released into Early Access on Steam and Xbox Game Preview in December. The game places you in the shoes of an 11-year-old named Minerva. Armed just with a flashlight and a backpack full of stuffed animals, you will try to survive in a haunted house.
Minerva has somehow found her way into a haunted mansion packed with all sorts of evil spirits. It seems like not everything in the mansion is evil though, because some kind soul has turned your flashlight into a powerful weapon. Her stuffed animals? They have also come to life to help her fight the evil spirits.
At its heart, Don't Die, Minerva! is a rogue-lite style of game. That means it'll be challenging, it will include permadeath, and the levels are procedurally generated. There will still be some permanent upgrades that you can carry with you that allow you to tackle harder difficulties.
A price for the Early Access release has not yet been given. You can already find the Steam page for the game right now. I'm sure there will be more details nearer to release.
Game Features:
- Procedurally generated levels set in 3 distinct biomes
- Four difficulty levels to suit all tastes and skill levels
- Randomized combat encounters featuring 18 ghostly enemy types
- 3 challenging boss battles
- Affix-based loot system providing Minerva with thousands of combinations of weapons and armor
- Elemental attribute system that allows players to customize their build through gear selection and create synergies between different weapons
- Full 3D isometric dungeon-crawling, built with the power of Unreal Engine 4
