A new free-to-play battle royale game is out today on PC via Steam. It's called Watchers and it promises to deliver "a truly innovative take on the battle royale genre."
The game will dro players into a "chaotic and bullet-heavy world" where 24 players will battle it out to be the last person standing. Alright, this all sounds the same so far.
However, unlike in other games, once a player is killed they will "enter a unique Watcher surveillance mode where they can either help or hinder the remaining combatants using some nefarious tricks." Ok, that's a bit different.
These Watchers will be able to track other players around the map. They can then activate various experiments and anomalies that can either help players or hinder players. They will also get to vote on where the Safe Zone shrinks. They can also bet on who they think will win.
The game also features a Battle Pass, an optional purchase, which can net you 86 elite cosmetic rewards across 60 different levels. These include new skins, melee weapons, animations, and emotes.
