KRAFTON Game Union, the company that owns Bluehole and the PUBG team, just released one of their own games today. Their latest is called Mistover, a game that blends together turn-based RPG mechanics with a roguelike experience.
As you may expect, this game includes plenty of strategic gameplay elements, plenty of action, and plenty of dangerous dungeons. It's out now for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam in North America. The suggested price looks to be $29.99 (USD) across all platforms.
There is a demo available, at least on the PC version. This way you can try it out to decide for yourself if you would like to purchase it on your platform of choice. There seems to be a couple of different modes for the demo. There is a ten minute time trial mode that tasks you with escaping a dungeon within ten minutes. There is also a full demo that introduces the player to the game's lore of the mist, while also providing an in-depth intro to the gameplay mechanics.
The game itself, demo and full game, makes use of an art style that pulls "from both Western and Asian influences." The combat is turn-based. You will have to manage and lead a "Corps crew" through an ever-changing dungeon adventure through the Pillar of Despair. Unravel the mysteries of the Vortex and try to find a cure for the afflictions that the mysterious Mist puts on everything it touches.
About MISTOVER
A massive vortex known as the Pillar of Despair released a thick mist that swept across the small kingdom of Arta, decaying the once lush lands. From this vortex, tremendous creatures known as espers were released destroying everything in their path. As Arta laid on the brink of destruction, all attacks subsided and the Expedition Corps began recruiting members willing to brave the deadly mysteries and effects of what Corps members call the Misfortune Mist.
