A lot of gameplay footage that may finally provide a lot of answers.
Death Stranding

The marketing for the Kojima Productions game, Death Stranding, has left consumers with more questions than answers. It's a game from the mind of Hideo Kojima, so of course the marketing was going to be odd. The problem was, there are a lot of people that just have no idea about what the game was even about even after the numerous trailers.

Maybe sitting down and watching 50 minutes of gameplay will help clear up that confusion. If that doesn't work, then maybe a breakdown of the gameplay footage from the PlayStation Blog will help.

If none of that helps, maybe the latest story trailer will help. And if even that doesn't help, then well, I don't know what to tell you. Obviously, there are quite a few gameplay "spoilers" included in this footage. If you insist on going in blind or you're already sold on this game, this footage isn't for you.

Just from a cursory glance, it looks like there is indeed a lot of walking. However, the gameplay footage does show off some very interesting gameplay mechanics, including a look at the game's combat, various modes of transportation such as a hoverboard, weight distribution affecting balance, and even the fact that some structures, like bridges, can appear if other players make them in their game.

The footage, seen below, is narrated mainly by Hideo Kojima and only in Japanese. As there aren't even any official English subtitles, you can try using YouTube's auto-generated captions, but good luck with that. I'll be sure to put up an official release of the footage in the future, should they ever release it with English narration or subtitles.
