Iceborne adds in tons of new content to enjoy today.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

Capcom released Monster Hunter World: Iceborne today to those who have the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is a massive expansion to the original Monster Hunter: World that adds in an entire new, frost location, new monsters, new subspecies, new gameplay options, new gear, and more.

This new area of Hoarfrost Reach is apparently larger than the area in the main game. This new story focuses on the new Elder Dragon, Velkhana. Those veteran players looking for a bigger challenge will be happy to hear about the new Master Rank difficulty that is added with Iceborne.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne includes the new Clutch Claw gameplay mechanic. This upgraded Slinger tool allows you to grapple onto monsters for more direct control and opens the doors to new battle strategies. Players can now ride smaller monsters around like mounts.

In order to access the new Iceborne content, you will have needed to completed the main story's campaign and reached Hunter Rank 16. Some post-release content is also already planned, including the return of Rajang (a big, angry ape) in October.

Iceborne is out now for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A PC release is coming in early 2020. This expansion retails for $39.99 (USD). A Deluxe release of Iceborne retails for $49.99 and includes a bunch of additional cosmetic items. There is also a Master Edition going for $59.99 that includes the main game and the Iceborne expansion.
