The Comanche franchise is back from the dead. A new trailer for Comanche was shown off this evening at Gamescom 2019 from developer NUKKLEAR. The first entry in this franchise dates back to 1992 with the release of Comanche: Maximum Overkill for the PC. The most recent game was 2001's Comanche 4. Yeah, it's not much of a stretch to say that this franchise is very much back from the dead when the last release was over 18 years ago.
Comanche is first going to enter into Steam Early Access starting in early 2020. The team wants to make sure that they get fan feedback to "ensure the best helicopter warfare game ever." The new title is being built on Unreal Engine 4.
Speaking of Early Access, the game's early access release will actually begin as a team-based online multiplayer helicopter shooter. You will get to control both your Comanche in addition to a smaller, armed drone for close-quarter engagements and special duties. Both the Comanche and drone setup will have their own strengths and weaknesses, and both are vital for the team vs. team battles.
