This week, Time revealed their list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Anita Sarkeesian, the founder of Feminist Frequency and the creator of Tropes vs. Women in Video Games web series, made the list this year. Actor Wil Wheaton provided the writeup for her inclusion on the list.

Sarkeesian released her own statement about being included on the list.
"I appreciate the honor of being included in the Time 100. It's gratifying to see Feminist Frequency's educational media criticism work recognized in this way. I'm encouraged that our video series on the portrayal of women in video games is starting to have a tangible impact on the gaming industry at large. This honor also highlights the importance of cultural and media criticism in promoting gender equity."

Others that are loosely tied to the gaming industry also made the list. This includes Apple's Tim Cook and Microsoft's Satya Nadella. In the past, other figures in the gaming industry that made Time's list include Rockstar's Sam and Dan Houser and Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto.
