Hearing that from someone not involved with either site is reassuring.

One things for sure, TotalBF2 is only working half the time now for me. Am I the only one getting errors?

    Anyone remember good ole' BF42.com?
That was a great site for BF42 news, extremely user-friendly, very popular by it's users, had a unique community of friendly non-noobs.
Then it's owner, "Acutus", decided it was time to take the site to the next level. It was sold to a guy called "Jeremy" aka "Summit".
With every "improvement" they made, more users decided to leave. More mergers/acquisitions followed, until it was finally part of the "Amped" company.
I don't think a single user from the old community still goes there, they all hated the new site, even though they told us it was getting better.

Some of the diehard fans of the old BF42.com site made a new community by the way, over at www.thebattlefields.com.

I hope this site doesnt get changed too much, and the new owners dont get greedy and start making the site unusable by ads everywhere...
    i agree!!
Once a Commercial Company takes over a website, the users will be neglected.

im already frustrated about the fact that they list a few URL's which are acually NOTHING! only 1 or 2 good Sites. i fear the worst.

Cheap sites (mambo)with no content, loads of advertising and promises.
nothing really new. another scam for the gamers buck.

nope, im not happy with this.

here is my opinion on the MyIS network.

    Greetings,
After all these months I had never created an account on this site, well today was my first day to actually play Battlefield 2! Its a great game and I have enjoyed the last couple hours of getting killed!

Ace101, DrunkenPirate, Spawndemon, ^Rico^, and GameWizard, you guys have all done a tremendous job with this site, I admire your efforts! It stayed the same, its maintained its quality, and has remained intact without a Wired Labs logo on the front page!

I suppose I am the infamous one who is charged with the single handed demise of fpscentral.com, I can however assure you it was not me alone. Its a shame such a great site turned out to be a total loss, however in retrospect the site was doomed on so many levels since its conception.

To all those who know me I had indeed left the internet dusty in a remote corner of my room. I replaced the constant squable with a great family, My son is now almost a year old and we are expecting a daughter this May. The family life has been great to me, I would not trade it for anything.

Well now that I have the game loaded in and a computer able to accomadate its needs I too shall join all of you in some great gaming, and some nice conversations here on TotalBF2.com.

    P.S.
H4wk and phatmonkey, I don't have the old database its gone, please don't ask me for it.

Hey Summit, nice to see you're alive! Thanks for the compliments man, as you can see, I'm still a newsposting whore Hah but yea its a nice place here, so stick around and be sure to keep posting. It's a shame that FPSCentral did fall under, it really was a great site with a great community. I don't hold you responsible for it though, once Wired Labs got involved, it was doomed. Only thing I hold you responsible for is the missing money you promised me jk man. That's what we've learned, going too corporate is not always the best thing. Glad to hear though that you got out of all that E-drama and really started focusing on your family...great to hear man. I remember when your son was born, seems like so long ago. Best of wishes though and good luck with raising your family. I have my contact info listed in my public profile so feel free to hit me up.

As far as H4wk and Phatmonkey go, don't know if you know for sure, but they started up BFCentral again. You can find them over here: http://www.bfcentral.co.uk/

Well, I could never give up the big site/forums thing so I migrated here after BFL collapsed
Yes Spawn he has posted there a few times, we have gotten over the loss of the old database and are moving past it. What's lost is lost, so we will press on instead.
Good to hear from you again Jeremy.
