[help a friend]video trouble

my friend bought bf2 today. on the back of the bf2 box, it sais the requirement and stuff, it said that for ati chips, radeon 8600 and higher would be enough to support the game. and my friend has a 9200. but when he launch the multiplayer game. this is wat happens: screen turns grey and then a message pop out: VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands.

then he goes to chekc the compability board that bf2 installed in his hard drive. it said that everything was compatible exept for the video card:

this is wat is said: display driver: compability unknown, none other information available.

display memory:128

display device: radeon 9200, compability unknown.

sound device: the name of his card, compability unknown.

this is wat he has :Ati Radeon 9200, 128 mb, AGP 8x/4x

he told me that hes got the same problem before but for hl2, and he doesnt remember how dell fixed it cuz now he can play hl2 perfectly.

any one has a logic to all this , or know the problem, any clue will be highly appreciated.

I'm assuming he has the most recent video card drivers installed?

yes.i just told him to update the driver and retry again, but it stayed the samething, before he had updated the driver, the display memory showed 0.0
