Activision Confirms There Will Be NO MW2 MP Beta.

It appears Activision is once again assuming everyone will just bow down to the glory of their future franchise hit, MW2. There will be NO MP beta for CoD:MW2, and here is what Activision told CVG at Gamescom:

"Activision has told CVG at Gamescom that there'll be be no multiplayer beta for Modern Warfare 2. You may remember that the first MW game had a huge open beta test that you could say was a massive success in bringing people round to Call Of Duty's multiplayer options. But it looks like there's no need to do that this time round. The sequel will be big enough, thanks."

Another goof for MW2, or a smart move? On one hand, their once again assuming they do not need to serve their audience because they are now at a higher status. Or, maybe gamers would play an mp beta and realize that not a whole lot is different gameplay wise compared to CoD4? On the other hand, it can be seen that they probably don't need to try and bring in as many gamers for this game. However, think of all the bugs that are usually found in betas. I guess those can just be fixed after the game is released...

All of these points keep adding up to a game that is being sold on a lot of hype. If not, forgive me IW as they do not make all of the decisions, but Activision seriously needs to bend over, take a whiff, and realize that yes, there is a smell there even for them.

They must need a forklift each for their egos and balls to ride on. Jesus, I thought I couldn't despise them any more than I already do and they have to teabag their potential customers?
I really hope they just go out of business at this point.

Highly doubtful. There's no demo for World at War, there was just a short and putrid beta. They fully intend to sell this game based entirely on hype and the fact that sheep will flock to it because it's the cool new thing.

well personally I never have gotten beta's for anything other than battlefield heroes but maybe they are playing off the fact that either

• They already have the engine completed and stable
• they are worried they might almost kill the game like with waw's beta (afaih)

It could be a good thing, but i can See how it can also be a bad thing. Infinity ward have been good with demo's haven't they? I remember a thread when COD4 was at its peak where everyone was posting the old demo's of COD1 and 2 for nostalgia and COD4 had a demo as well. Lets just hope that they will do the same with this one.

Yeah...
So there are absolutely no problems at all with CoD4? None? No glitches, no problems with weapons like certain ones giving you Extreme Conditioning just from having the weapon, not selecting the perk? Or giving a certain weapon silenced range/damage stats when you're using a red dot? Nothing like that?

Didn't say perfect, just passable. There will always be issues. Frankly I don't call a game buggy unless it crashes if you so much as move the mouse these days. Hey as long as its not "big rigsver the road racing" level I'm perfectly happy.

Not really. Its just I have to ignore some things to enjoy it. Sometimes you have to overlook some issues to get enjoyment out of it, and hey, thats what games are for, enjoyment (not bugs) I have had to deal with the stalker series. Really good story, Awesome gameplay, small company, bad beta testing. Hope the next one doesn't have that many problems.

Also, I'm not a whinger, if something truely bugs me and there is something I can do about it then I would say something. But in the case of games, what can a 15 y/o do to convince the dev to do something other than through a poll, right?
