    8800GT temps?

Is 66C acceptable? I just had the screen turn purple while playing today and I had to restart, but its fine now. I even had it go up to 90 before (I think) and it was fine.

Edit: It's an EVGA 8800GT, I heard their fan is default always at 29%, should I change that?

    Edit 2: It's a power supply problem.

Yeah that should be ok... but list your powersupply..full specs please including +12volt rails.. you might be under powering it.

    Crap, I think you're right. BFG 650w.

8800GT requires 400w with 22 amps on the +12V. I think I'll swap it with my Corsiar VX450 450w, that has 33 amps on the +12V.

I guess I learned my lesson, don't buy PSUs on wattage alone.

Wait, am I supposed to add the 12V1 amps with the 12V2 amps!? It's a dual rail PSU.

yes you add them up. and I'm pretty sure around 90C at load is normal for the 8800GT. I heard some have cooling problems

Sorry for going off-topic, but how do you check the temperature on the 8800GT? I know it should be in the control panel, but my control panel doesn't display the temp.

aww yeah I missed that you do have two rails...but put a meter on them..just cause they say 20 doesn't mean they are putting out 20.
