Which one is better- the prices is virtually the same for me (found some good deals at local retailers).
System 1....
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640 MB
650i Ultra Motherboard
E6600 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Duo
2 Gigs of HP 800mhz RAM
or
System 2....
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320 MB
650i Ultra Motherboard
Q6600 2.4 Ghz Core 2 Quad
3 gigs of 800 Mhz HP RAM
I am thinking System 1 becuase the videocard will last forever, and the only thing I see that might need to be upgraded in the next 3-4 years is another gig of RAM and maybe a new processor.
With System 2 the processor will last forever, but I might need another gig of RAM (no biggy) and maybe a new videocard (to SLI with the 8800 GTS 320).
So wait, doesn't that make System 2 better.... alas somebody help this poor soul out.
Cheers
Id go for system 2that quad core will make games run sweet, and that graphics card isnt that bad anyway, yeh system one's card is a bit more powerful and is good (as i have that card) the 320 one should suffice. Either way id go for system 2.
System 1 for SLi, you only then have to upgrade the CPU when you have xtra cash,
System 2 moby is probably for Crossfire, you can use a single nVidia card on it but you wont be able to use SLi until you get a mobo like #1
I think I will do system 2. Cause I can get a second 320 MB in a few years if I need more videocard performance.
Cheers
System 2.
I seriously hope you're not using the 8800 as your DX10 card.
System 2 without a doubt. You wouldnt notice any noticeable difference between a 640 and a 320 8800. And by the time you did you could upgrade to something else.
Thanks all :salute:
System 2 it is...
Cheers
