I have some serious problems with the sound in BF2. No matter what setting (software, hardware, low, high, medium) i use the sound, upon entering the maps turn from normal into a shrieking cacaphony of unbeareble horridness, and the game crashes. Soundcard i use is Creative Audigity 2 ZS. Anyone know how to fix this? I have latest drivers and patches for game and card.
Try turning off hardware accelerated sound and just use software. I had a problem too with my Audigity making aweful sounds, but by turning off the hardware aceleration, it seemed to fix it.
Let us know if you find a solution in case someone else has a similar problem.
Well, sadly the way the Turning of hardware acceleration helped was that it removed the shrieking noise, but the audio still breaks, and goes into blips and blops and the game still crashes![]()
When was the last time you updated your audio drivers? And what is the driver version you are currently using?
lol my friends has been having bad problems witht eh drivers for that card, um I say update and reinstall em
Here's a list of suggestions I would try (in this order):Originally Posted by -75thRgt-Sharingan
1) swap out PCI slots
2) if you have onboard audio or another soundcard, try those. (it maybe the sound card has simply gone bad and is causing conflicts with the rest of your machine)
3) Finaly try to run the game with the *gasp* sound card removed and see if the game/system still crashes. If it does, then you know it's not the sound card causing the issues.
4) Check your PSU (under powering or a faulting PSU can cause funny things to a system)
Hope this help. Keep us updated.
