FF off is fun

Friendly Fire off is for noobs.

I rarely have a problem with running over teammates with my tank. If you do, you are doing something wrong.

And I HATE the whine about being punished. Who cares if you get punished? How many times have you ACTUALLY been kicked from a server for being punished? Only ONE time have I ever been kicked from a server for TKing and that was before the patch that took away TK punishes for commanders and arty. If you are often getting kicked from servers for many accidental TKs, then, quite frankly, YOU SUCK.

You should have to be mindful of your teammates. I can't believe that they allowed ranked servers with FF off.

i think it all depends on how you approach the game. If you just want a bit of fun and you're not worried about ranks and stuff then you find a server with ff off, but if like me you like to immerse yourself in the battle, and know that you have to be careful where you're firing, as in real life, then you pick ff on. Silly punishes do piss me off though.

Fair comment. But on most public servers there's little communication between players on the same side. I beleive FF off compensates for this fact. You often can't speak to the guy next to you and say, hey I'm throwing a nade over there or fire in the hole even.... etc

Even with FF off, you need some caution with your fire. There's nothing worse then being stuck reloading when someone comes round the corner. Also, clever players will listen for enemy gun noise, so you can give yourself away rambo'ing.

No, it's just "recommended" that it be turned on.
But it should be against the ROE. It seems bizarre to me that slagfests aren't viewed in the same light as stat-padding.

Whilst you are very welcome to your opinion, why on earth should it be against ROE?
As far as i'm concerned, its the same as K/P servers. Stop moaning about them, just DON'T USE THE SERVERS. There are plenty of servers out there that cater for everyones tastes, why should Mr A tell Ms B what type of server she can go on, or what type of server she can run, if A and B have both paid the same money?
I don't use K/P servers, but to be honest, its cos I am proper crap with K AND P , but I wouldn't moan and berate someone for using them.

lol, one time i joined a ranked server not knowing ff was off and some guy was jumping around tossing c4 killing people and he was launching himself real high. then i started a big war on the chat thing. they didn't tell me untill like half way through the round.

Well, first of all, I didn't "moan about them," as you put it.
I actually said they were fun for a diversion mash-up.

But you make my point for me: Similar to your statement above, I also view FF=Off the same as K/P servers.
Both seem like statpadding to me. Incidentally, K/P servers are against the ROE.
