    Wow this hit detection in this game is so sh*tty, it's crazy.

    You can turn the corner, see a proned guy, and shoot him in the face a billion times and nothing happens... and he just looks up and shoots you.

    Or the times when you see some idiot with an RPK standing in the MIDDLE of the road, from like 100m, he just randomly shoots and kills you with the first shot...

    I mean.... wtf?

    I could be wrong of course, but I really think with all the (new) network problems brought about in 1.3, hit detection consistency is at an all time low in this game.

    I can't ever recall so many situations (previous patches) where I'm putting round after round into a player at near point blank range... yet seeing no results for it.

    The TOW/AT rocket bug is obvious when it happens and I'm sure bullets always passed through players now and then in previous patches, but it's at a point now where the packet drops are so frequent, the bullet passes are becoming as obvious as the TOW missiles.


    I tried to play devil's advocate about this for a while by assuming it was just a case of me shooting at someone with a poor connection/high ping, but that just is not the case when I'm playing against people who live in the same city as me, share the same ISP, and we are all connected to a server with less than 25 pings on average.

    Stupid question but has anyone in the bf2 mod scene ever done something like this?

    For the longest time, RTCW: Enemy Territory players felt that the hit boxes were way off in terms of being in sync with the player models, and sure enough they were.

    It would be very interesting to see just how the player hit boxes in bf2 correspond to the player models throughout the various animations/movements.

    I kno, just today a Vodnik was coming towards me in SAK, so i aimed and fired with my SRAW right at him. The rocket went right through the vehicle. No joke, I actually saw it enter and then exit out the other end. He then ran me over.

    It doesn't record my voice.. idk why. But it records everyone elses.
