This coming from a guy that's got 144 hours of heliwhoring on BF2:SF Ghost Town..First off, how the **** would you know? With your k/d ratio in a chopper being 1.4 and your k/d ratio in a jet not even 2.0?Maybe for a beginner the heli is harder but for a seasoned gamer it's definitely harder to be effective in a jet than a heli..
It amazes me how people try to talk like they actually KNOW what they are talking about.
Its interesting that stats ARE good for one thing, even if not totally accurate due to tking and such, you can't be skilled AND have your k/d ratio (in chopper and jet) be THAT bad unless you go on a tkers r us server (which btw doesnt exist).
If you had gained your ratio on Oman or Kubra maybe I'd be insulted but this is just pathetic.. If you're gonna be an arrogant pr*ck at least show up with some credible merits..
Don't post in here if you can't act like a grownup kthnxbye..
Since I refuse to use a Joystick, Jets are the hardest for me to Fly. With the G5 Mouse it is very easy to out manuver a J10(believe it or not, and admittedly it wasn't PlaneWhore or anyone of his calibre), but very difficult to shoot anything when my Sensitivity Setting is at the highest - heh.
T
Helis just hide and run away when they get shot and get healed to 100% in 5 sec. You cant heal in a jet unless you land and in the 30 seconds you will likely get TKed by a teammate
EXACTLY! ^^^^Movement
Jets: mostly straight lines... once you get the hang of it, it's ridiculously easy.
Choppers: do I even need to go there?
Weapons
Jets: machine gun is simply a matter of marrying flight with straight shooting. Again, easy. Bombing requires some getting used to but is still relatively easy. AA? LOL, let's not even go there.
Choppers: learning to fire missiles in three-dimensional space at a variety of speeds and angles is only mastered by a select few. Gunning with machine gun is relatively easy, with TV being difficult to master.
... and that's just for starters. Jets are basically Counter-Strike while choppers are Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.
Look, its not about k/d ratio or such. Its about being experienced at least MODERATELY with both. And you honestly can't give a real accurate assesment of which one is more difficult if you have 2 mins in a chopper and 3 in a jet or a k/d ratio of 1/2 or 1.2 etc....Also... just somthing that gets under my skin; Alcorr. Why do you start a thread, present a poll, and then when people give their honest opinion. If you don't agree, you don't just say "I don't agree, but to each their own". No no no... you respond with the most arrogant crap I have ever heard, "Your K/D ratio is blah blah blah, and your flight time is blah blah blah; you don't know what you're talking about!". What the hell does it matter what their K/D ratio is, or their flight time. Do you only want the opinion of a "select few" of the community? I mean, out of a 64 man server than may be 4 helos. Which doesn't lend its self to many "dedicated" Helo pilots.
At least state in the first line of your thread, " Don't respond unless your K/D ratio is such, or your flight time is such". Don't just cut people down for getting involved. It really seems counter productive.
When I ask for replies in general you should give a reason and at least KNOW what you are talking about otherwise don't even bother posting....
Anyone can say ooo jets r SOOO hard to master....but if you don't even have that much time in a jet in the first place how can you even say THAT?!
I actually have 60 hrs on a chopper and only 30 are on ghost town, rest are on wake and a few other places....This coming from a guy that's got 144 hours of heliwhoring on BF2:SF Ghost Town..

And thats an interesting statement coming from you, you don't even have 5 hrs on that map so how do you know what its normally like?
Take into consideration that the HIND is the WORST chopper even created in bf2, its like a flying brick, its an attack chopper with the aerodynamics of the MEC transport...
Also, by far, the worst map for choppers in the ENTIRE game (vbf2 and EF included) is ghost town...you just can't say it isn't, ive played on that map for 144+ hrs and watched thousands of choppers downed.
Its quite simply because to kill anything choppers have to be within range of the many stingers, FAVs, mobile AAs, APCs and tanks.....
Seriosly, one good player in the mobile AA on the other side can take out sooo many choppers on the other team, its all about good positioning and timing....
Not to mention the FAVs always blasting at you and o yeah, theres always at LEAST 1stinger ALWAYS within range of you no matter where you are in the map. And lets not forget the heli pad is constantly camped by C4ers and mobile AA can shoot from across the other side to hit anything near the pad.
Let us not forget the chopper heli points are always spawncamped by M95ers, apcs, tanks, and mobile AA(therefore I die many times in a chopper before I take off), they spawn in the city, not in the uncappable bases....
The TKing is just as bad on ghost town as all the other maps....
Please, since you have no idea what the fuk you are talking about, don't lecture me on my own map....
... and that's on Special Forces. ;-)
BF2 has more of the same though: it's replaced by snipers, baseraping jets and highly enjoyable teammates.
usmc chopper is teh pw
I would have to say that airplanes are much harder then helicopters.
