About CrochaN
Biography:
I had my first experience with computers in 1986 when I was six years old. My first machine was Sinclair ZX Spectrum, with less memory than my phone today. I have seen the game industry develop from the classic “Pong” to what it is today. And have always been involved in this development one way or another. At age 11 I had my first experience with network gaming (Now we call it "Online Gaming"). I was a member of a vast gaming community and was involved with multiple game development projects on some level.

Years of gaming experience behind my back, I eventually decided to start my own project. I always wanted to move to Canada, and by the time I was in my late 20’s the opportunity came along. I arrived in Canada and drove a long haul truck for two years. Every night at a truck stop I would sit with my laptop on a wireless network and read articles about game development. When I finally got my Permanent Residency in Canada, I left the trucking business and returned to my regular occupation, which was IT. Then came the day when I sat down with a game engine, and a help of some tutorials started working on “The Withering”. I wrote my first line of code in late 2013.

Developing “The Withering” was extremely hard and super exciting at the same time. I was frustrated one day and hype another when I managed to achieve a task that I set for myself. I did not want to use any free available prebuilt code. Instead, I wanted to understand how everything works and to do that, I had to write everything from scratch. I had a lot of help from people sharing tutorials on community forums. It took me slightly over two weeks to start writing my own code without the help from others. After a few months, I had enough content developed to launch a Steam Greenlight campaign. It took “The Withering” just 12 days to get Greenlit on Steam, and during those days I had very little time to sleep. When iRangers stepped in, we were able to expand the development team. From that day, I have been working on the development of the project every day, all day.
