  • Fallout 76 - Online Multiplayer Focused, B.E.T.A. Test Announced

Fallout 76 is now confirmed to be an always online multiplayer game where you and a bunch of other players can get together for one big ol' post-apocalyptic party. Help each other, hurt each other, launch nukes at each other, quest together, or just ignore each other. It's all up to you when Fallout 76 launches on November 14, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Bethesda's Todd Howard did confirm that you can still play the game solo, if you so desire.

    DESCRIPTION:
Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of Skyrim and Fallout 4, welcome you to Fallout 76, the online prequel where every surviving human is a real person. Work together, or not, to survive. Under the threat of nuclear annihilation, you’ll experience the largest, most dynamic world ever created in the legendary Fallout universe.

Reclamation Day, 2102. Twenty-five years after the bombs fall, you and your fellow Vault Dwellers—chosen from the nation’s best and brightest – emerge into post-nuclear America. Play solo or join together as you explore, quest, build, and triumph against the wasteland’s greatest threats.

    KEY FEATURES:
Celebrate 300 years of freedom with the all-new Fallout 76 Tricentennial Edition, commemorating the opening of Vault 76. Our good friends at Vault-Tec have pulled double shifts, working around the clock to assemble this one-of-a kind compilation…for you! Be the talk of the town when you emerge from Vault 76 fully prepared and patriotically styled in the new American frontier!

In addition to the highly anticipated game, the Fallout 76 Tricentennial Edition includes bonus in-game items:
    • Tricentennial Power Armor Customization for the T-51, T-45, T-60, and X-01 Power Armors
    • Tricentennial Weapon Customization for the 10MM Pistol, Hatchet, and Laser Rifle
    • Spectacularly Handsome Vault Boy Mascot Head
    • Patriotic Uncle Sam Outfit
    • Celebratory Vault Boy Saluting Emote
    • First-Class Tricentennial Workshop Posters
    • Tricentennial Commemorative Photo Frame
    • Access to the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application)

Actual gameplay was shown off during Bethesda's event tonight but it doesn't seem to be available as its own upload. However, you can watch their E3 Showcase starting at around the 2:18:12 mark to see the gameplay for yourself.

Additional snippets of information include the announcement of a $199 (USD) "Power Armor Edition" that comes with a wearable Power Armor Helmet, a duffel bag, figurines, steelcase, in-game digital items, and a glow in the dark world map of Fallout 76.

Bethesda also announced that there will be a B.E.T.A. (Break-it Early Test Application) for Fallout 76 coming. As it stands right now, it seems as though the only way to guarantee access to the beta is to pre-order the game. I'll be sure to post something more concrete if this changes. Dates for the B.E.T.A. were not yet revealed.

So is it more of an MMORPG like TES online? (which I didn't like because it was too MMOwy and not TES enough), or is it more of a coop or mayhem sandbox game like Tom Clancys wildlands, or even GTA O
