  • PopCap Dublin Shut Down by EA

    0 Not allowed! Not allowed!
EA has closed up PopCap Dublin for good. This comes just about a month after EA laid off roughly 50 employees from the PopCap studios in Seattle and Vancouver.

Today's closure has impacted roughly 96 employees in the Dublin, Ireland location. An undisclosed number of these employees have either been offered jobs at other areas within PopCap, EA, or other "technology partners" in Ireland.

"Europe remains a critical market for PopCap and we will continue to grow our presence through centralised services operated from our North American offices and through the extensive European EA network," read a statement from the studio.

Still, the company is looking to hire new employees at other locations. The Dublin studio was apparently not generating enough profits to keep operations going.

EA acquired PopCap last year for $750 million.
