  • Dying Light Getting 10 Free DLC Packs Over 12 Months

Techland said that they plan on continuing support of Dying Light for a period of 12 months, beginning later this year. This support will include at least ten free additional DLC packs for the game. An 11th pack is planned but this one is said to actually arrive before the start of the 12 month run.

Dying Light, if you recall, first came out about three years ago. It still holds up very well to this day, but it is surprising that this content is planned in lieu of any sort of a sequel announcement. While it's not announced yet what these packs will contain, it may be a safe bet that there won't be anything of real substance (such as a full expansion), but I'm open to surprises. These packs are coming thanks to the community still showing huge support for the game to the tune of over 500,000 players still playing the game every week.

Almost three years after the original Dying Light was released, about half a million people still play the game every week. In the very first months on the market in 2015, the weekly numbers were around 700 000. This shows that our community is still huge, active, and craving for more. Not a single day passes without requests for new weapons, outfits, and quests. In the face of such enthusiasm and engagement, we cannot keep quiet. Today Iím happy to announce Techlandís continuous support for Dying Light.

Original content is already in the works and our fans can expect to face new challenging enemies, master new gameplay mechanics, solve more Harran mysteries, and even explore never-seen-before locations. This translates to ten pieces of DLC in the first twelve months of our continuous support - available free for all players, across all platforms.

Continuous support means also more updates, gameplay tweaks, and community events. As we firmly believe in active collaboration between the design team and players, we hope this announcement will encourage our fans to share their thoughts, stories, and ideas about how we can improve their experience even more.

As always we are all ears,
    Paweł Marchewka,
    Techland CEO

For those who do not yet own the game, Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition is on sale right now for 60% off for the next 16 hours (from the time of this posting).
