Activision's CFO Dennis Durkin told investors that Ghosts has not even hit Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 sales figures yet. They're naturally blaming it on the upcoming release of the new consoles and digital distribution... somehow. Really? Alright...
"This year, the sell-through curve will be different than in past years due to the multiple launches of new hardware later in the month and more days between our launch and the high-volume Black Friday at the end of the month.
"That said, it's a very solid achievement and shows the tremendous confidence our retail partners have and the strength of the game and franchise heading into this holiday."
While their excuse is just that, an excuse, it should be noted that sales for other multi-generational titles such as Battlefield 4 and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag are also down from their previous releases.
Yeah, I'm sure that the new consoles are solely to blame for why all of these games aren't selling as well as the previous entries. Yep, that must be it.
