  • Xbox Rewards Program Now Makes Your Gamerscore Worth Something - $0.25

So you've managed to amass a huge Gamerscore on your Xbox 360 that you've had since launch. Good for you, but what does that really matter when it was just a number that meant nothing. Nothing, that is, until now.

The Xbox Live Rewards program is now placing a value on your Gamerscore. Those eligible (read: those signed up for the Rewards program, with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription, and at least 3,000 GS) will get at least one "special gift" for their birthday month. That special gift is valued at a cool $0.25 (USD), or about 20 Microsoft Points.

There are two tiers of prizes above the 3,000 GS minimum. If you've earned over 10,000 GS, you get the gift valued at $0.25 and a 1% rebate on any purchases made on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Managed to hit 25,000 GS? Then you've reached "Legend" status and get the special gift and 2% off of your purchases.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus subscribers get a ton of games for free every month, including Borderlands, Scott Pilgrim, Infamous 2, Little Big Planet 2, and Ratchet and Clank All 4 One to name a few from this month alone.
